Is the Barnes move about accesibility, or is it a theft?
Seems like an old question, but with that trailer and the move so imminent, it’s time to revisit this one.

I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

The move is completely about accesibilty. While I understand the concerns of those who are angered by the breaking of Dr. Barnes’ will I really cannot see how this is theft as some describe? Who is being robbed? The truth is the work is less accesible in Merion than it would be in Center City Philadelphia. While this may compromise some of Dr. Barnes specific intentions about the hanging of the work, its location and so on, I think it is clear that the achievements of the artists represented in the collection far out weigh the achievements of the installation of the work. Its worth moving the art to a place where these can be seen by more people.
