The Studios @ 2202 Alter in South Philly (just off 22nd & Washington) is a great art studio building and very close to Center City. We have several openings at the moment or coming up. The spaces are bright and spacious, approx. 450 sf in size, with hardwood floors, 11' ceilings, and large industrial windows. It's a quiet, secure, professional building with artist/owners on premises. Perfect for painter, photographer, graphic artist, etc. Plenty of on-street parking as well as convenient access to Septa 7 & 64 buses. Work space only, no live-ins. Rent is $475/month including utilities; annual lease required. For more info please visit www.studiosat2202alter.com or email info@octostudio.com.

NO!

I don't think that this should become a part of the art blog. Libby and Roberta do what they do, Funnel Pages can stand on it's own

If it is going to be handed over to the art blog I will help write reviews and articles and posing questions that ought to be asked to keep this site more critical and insightful.

Philadelphia needs a place for writers who are approaching relevant issues. I see that potential here and don't want to it to be diluted. (thank you funnelpages.)

I don't want to see you go.

Hey Shaun,
Have you talked to Libby and Roberta about this? Having Funnel Pages become part of ArtBlog would be incredible. Maybe it could be a section on their site, and they can find the people to oversee it. They've been able to attract a number of volunteer writers lately, and I bet they could solicit help for this as well....just a thought...

Dear Joy,

I so enjoyed seeing your artwork and reading about your studio. Jim told me about the site, so I am so boldly introducing myself to you. The humor and love of life in your work is after my own heart. Sincerely, your Aunt Char.

HANDMADE NATION
2009 – USA – 1 hr 30 min – d. Faythe Levine

at Bryn Mawr Film Institute, 824 West Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010

This isn’t your mother’s idea of crafting! In Handmade Nation, first-time director Faythe Levine
documents the rise of the do-it-yourself craft movement, a new wave of art and design that is
currently gaining ground across the nation. Traveling to fifteen cities and interviewing eighty
people, Levine captures the tight-knit community and their take on the sudden popularity of their
punk-infused marriage of historical handiwork and modern aesthetics.
